Anita Levels: Bio

Anita Levels - Recording Artist & Songwriter

Anita Levels is an artist, songwriter and aspiring producer with ambitions to renovate the sound of praise and worship. She loves the spirit of music and believes it can transcend all man made barriers. Her long awaited debut CD release, Restore the Soul, hopes to encourage, revive, and of course restore the soul of anyone who listens. Songs such as No One Like You and You Alone will capture the listener's ear and yield a fresh lyrical and melodious approach to inspirational music.

While in Europe, at the age of three years old, Anita began to sing. Being a preacher's kid, and born to a musical family from New Orleans, Louisiana, it was natural for Anita to not only grow up singing, but grow up singing in the church. In the 1980's having moved to Ohio, Anita listened to the sounds of gospel greats, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Commissioned, The Winans, Andre' Crouch, The Clark Sisters and Tramaine Hawkins. To this day these musical influences are still apart of Anita's vocal style.

After moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the 1990’s, Anita later attended and graduated college with a Bachelors degree in Social Work, after which, she continued her education and obtained her Masters Degree in Training and Development. While attending college as an undergraduate student, Anita formed the gospel choir, Blessed. and in March 2001, Blessed was featured in the “Netherlands Tour” in which the choir ministered throughout the country of Holland.

In 2004 Anita was married to Terrance J. Levels and is blessed by her husband’s support and giftings in music and organization. Their entertainment group The Levels Group is a joint vision that plans to be the catalyst of promoting the sound of Anita Levels. She has sung background with Kurt Carr and The Kurt Carr Singers as well as Karen Clark-Sheard. She has also opened for Trinitee 5:7, Joe Pace, Fred Hammond and Richard Smallwood. She has been apart of various musical productions such as Saints, Aints and Wannabees, Black Nativity and the 2005 Orchard Hill Christmas production.

Anita believes that music should evoke an atmosphere of praise, worship, love, healing and encouragement. She is amazed by what God is doing and what he has promised to do. Her God-given vision is to bring a kingdom sound to the nations. This will happen by declaring God’s reign and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ!

"For he hath put a new song in my mouth a song of praise to our God, many shall see it and fear and put their trust in the Lord."
Psalms 40:3
